Who we are and what this covers
ErrandBwoy is a product of Pintop Technologies Limited, which is responsible for the personal data described in this policy. This policy covers the ErrandBwoy Android and iOS apps, this website, customer and GoGuy accounts, and related support.
It explains the information we access, collect, use, share and retain. The product-specific explanations here supplement Pintop’s corporate Privacy Policy. If you have a question, contact the Data Protection Officer at hi@pintoptechnologies.com.
Information we collect
- Account and profile: name, phone number, email, sign-in credentials in protected form, profile photo, gender where supplied, country, area, selected services, availability and account preferences.
- Identity and eligibility: date of birth, legal name, identity documents, portrait and guided face-capture photographs, verification consent and review results. Some services require additional safeguarding documents or eligibility checks. Face photographs are used for identity review and fraud prevention.
- Errands and communications: requests, descriptions, addresses, scheduling, offers, agreed prices, task updates, messages, uploaded photos, completion evidence, ratings, call participants, call times and connection details.
- Payments: transaction references, amounts, currency, wallet and payout records, bank details needed for withdrawals, payment status, refunds and claims. Payment providers handle card entry and payment authentication; do not send card details or passwords in messages.
- Location: approximate and precise device location, saved locations, task addresses and location-sharing choices, as explained below.
- Device and service records: IP address, app and operating-system version, device registration and push-notification tokens, sign-in sessions, delivery status, diagnostic and security records.
- Support and safety: enquiries, reports, evidence, emergency contacts you choose to provide, consent records and information needed to investigate a complaint. Where a permitted care booking needs information about another person, provide only necessary details and make sure you are authorised to share them.
Precise and background location
With your device permission, we access approximate or precise location from GPS, Wi-Fi and network signals. Customers can use their location to choose a service address or find nearby help. You can also enter an address manually where the feature allows it.
For GoGuys, location updates support nearby matching while active mode is on. When task-location consent is given, updates also support progress and safety during an active errand. Background permission allows those updates when another app is open, the screen is locked or ErrandBwoy is not in the foreground. An operating-system indicator or ongoing notification may appear.
During an active errand, the assigned customer can see the GoGuy’s consented position. A task’s service and delivery addresses are shared with the assigned participants as needed to perform the work. Before a match, discovery uses an area or approximate distance rather than publishing your precise device position to everyone.
Authorised operations and safety staff may access saved location and task-location information to assist users, investigate incidents and manage service availability. For on-site bookings with an agreed service area, a fresh position outside that area may alert the customer and safety team. GPS alerts are advisory and can be inaccurate.
Google Maps and related mapping services process coordinates, address searches and route requests needed to display maps and calculate routes. We do not sell location information or use it for advertising.
Your controls: manage approximate, precise and background access in your phone’s permissions settings. Going offline stops new matches; it does not by itself stop consented location sharing for an active errand. Use the errand’s safety panel to stop task sharing, or revoke location permission in device settings. Stopping access prevents new updates but does not erase previously stored addresses or task records. Features relying on location may become unavailable or less accurate.
Latest saved positions are refreshed by new updates. Addresses and location information attached to an account, task or safety record follow the retention rules below.
Camera, photos, microphone and notifications
Camera and photos: used when you take or select a profile photo, complete identity verification or upload task and support evidence. Selected images are uploaded for the purpose shown in the app. We do not need unrestricted access to your photo library to browse the service.
Microphone: accessed for in-app voice calls when you use calling features. Audio is transmitted through the calling service so participants can speak; related connection and call-status information is processed to operate the call.
Notifications and live activity: push tokens and device registrations deliver task, account, safety, support and call updates. Lock-screen previews and active-errand notifications can be visible to someone using your device; control these in your phone settings.
Permissions are requested through your operating system when needed. You can revoke them in settings. Optional permission refusal may prevent the relevant feature from working without preventing use of unrelated features.
How and why we use information
We use information to create and secure accounts; verify identity and service eligibility; connect customers and GoGuys; manage errands, communications, payments and payouts; provide support; resolve disputes; protect people; prevent abuse; and maintain and improve service reliability.
Depending on the activity and applicable law, processing relies on providing the service you request, your consent, legal obligations, or legitimate interests such as service security and resolving complaints. Location permission and task-sharing consent have specific controls. Where sensitive information requires separate consent or another legal condition, we obtain it before that use.
Matching uses factors such as service, availability and location. A suggestion or notification does not guarantee work. You can ask support about a decision affecting your account or request a review.
Retention, deletion and backups
| Information | How long it is kept |
|---|---|
| Account, saved location, task and communication records | While needed to operate your account and associated services. A requested account deletion has a 30-day recovery period before permanent removal. |
| Identity and safeguarding evidence | While required for verification, eligibility and unresolved safety or legal matters. Inactive evidence is subject to the configured evidence-retention period and review; an account deletion also schedules linked evidence for removal, subject to lawful holds. |
| Backups containing deleted personal data | No longer than 30 days. Deleted information is not restored to ordinary use; deletion requests must be reapplied when recovering a backup. |
| Accounting records that must be retained | Normally six years under Pintop’s retention schedule, subject to applicable record-keeping obligations. The app removes personal links and narration from shared ledger records when deleting an account. |
| Legal holds and unresolved claims | Only for the period needed to meet the relevant obligation or resolve the matter. We restrict retained information to that purpose. |
Request account deletion in the app or by email. During the 30-day recovery period, signing back in with the same credentials restores the account and cancels deletion. After that window, the account and associated personal records are removed, and linked private files are scheduled for deletion. A storage failure can require a retry.
Complete or cancel active errands and settle wallet balances and pending withdrawals before requesting deletion. Deleting the app alone does not delete your account. We cannot erase information another participant has independently saved or communications already delivered by email or SMS; those copies remain subject to the recipient’s obligations.
See Pintop’s Data Retention Policy for the corporate retention framework. Contact us for the retention applicable to a specific record or hold.
Security and processing locations
We use safeguards such as protected sign-in credentials, encrypted connections, access restrictions and protected document storage. Only authorised staff should access personal information for their role. No service can guarantee complete protection against every risk; report suspicious access through support.
Our hosting and integration providers may process data in Nigeria and other countries. Where data crosses borders, we apply the safeguards required by applicable data-protection law, including suitable contractual and organisational measures. Ask us for details about the locations and safeguards relevant to your information.
Your choices and privacy rights
Subject to applicable law, you may ask to access or correct your data, request erasure, restrict or object to processing, obtain eligible data in a portable format, withdraw consent and challenge a significant decision affecting you. Withdrawing consent does not change the lawfulness of processing already completed.
Email hi@pintoptechnologies.com with “ErrandBwoy privacy request” and the email or phone number on your account. We may verify ownership before releasing or changing information. Do not send passwords, full card details or identity documents by ordinary email unless a secure process is agreed.
We respond within the period required by applicable law and explain any extension or exception. You may also complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission or the relevant data-protection authority in your country. Pintop’s rights-request procedure explains the corporate process.
Children and information about others
ErrandBwoy accounts are intended for adults aged 18 or older. Children should not create an account or independently book work. If a permitted care booking involves a child or dependent adult, an authorised adult must arrange it and share only information necessary for safe care. Never upload another person’s documents or sensitive information without authority.
Contact us if a child has created an account or if someone has submitted information about you without authority.
Website, cookies and external links
The website and its hosting service process basic connection information such as IP address, requested pages and browser details to deliver pages and protect the service. Download links and external sites, including app stores and Pintop’s corporate website, follow their own privacy notices.
This website does not require advertising cookies to browse categories or read these policies. If non-essential tracking is introduced, we will explain it and obtain any consent required before it operates. Your browser can control local storage and cookies; the app’s permissions are managed separately.
Changes and contact
We update this policy as features, providers and legal requirements change. The date at the top identifies this version. Material changes will be brought to your attention through an appropriate channel; any new consent needed for a use of your data will be requested separately.
